SWIMMING!

Well, our swim session on Sunday was a HUGE success. Syd loved every minute of it.

We took her down to the pool in the stroller and changed her into her Little Swimmers when we got down there so she wouldn’t get too cool. The water was warm but, not as warm as it has been in the past (when they top up the pool, it is usually cooler for a few days) but, she did not cry once.

When we first put her in, she was very quiet and spent LOTS of time just looking around at everything. We took good care not to get any water in her ears and ensured that her shoulders stayed above at the very beginning until she got used to it.

Then, as she got more comfortable with everything, we slowly put more of her body into the water:

and finally, we turned her over and let her “swim”. She was kicking up a storm and even had her little arms going as well:

We had her in the water for a good 10 minutes and then her little lips started to quiver (the cold quiver..NOT the cry one) but, she was so happy to be there that we let her stay in another few minutes.

When we were done, I bundled her up nice and tight in her towel and got her all dried off and into her robe. Then, we put her in her stroller where she was snug as a bug in a rug:

Finally, she signaled to us how much she liked her first swim experience by giving us the “thumbs up”:

She stayed in her stroller for about 15 minutes and relaxed while mommy and daddy got a MUCH needed dip in the hot tub.

    • Yup, she certainly is a water baby. But, it is only fitting since both Pat and I LOVE the water as well.

  2. That sounds like so much fun!

That is so great about living in a condo…a pool and a hot tub. AHHHhhhhh. 🙂

Looks like she had a great time!

    • Tell me about it! I have missed the hot tub as it has been AGES since I have gotten to go for a dip. But, now that we know Miss Syd likes it, we can make it a weekly thing.
