Seriously, some days reading too much on the Internet is enough to make you want to crawl in a hole with your family and NEVER come out!  Or drive a pregnant woman to drink but, oh, wait, I heard that isn’t good for you.

So, the topic of today is baby bottles.  Remember when Avent bottles were ALL the rage, the best, the ones to own if you wanted a healthy happy baby?  Well, let me tell you people, that little tidbit has changed and Avent, Dr. Brown’s, Evenflo, Gerber and Playtex are all now on the EVIL EVIL list because apperantly, they leach Bisphenol A.  Now, I remember when Sydney was a baby, leaching was a concern but, only if you put the bottle in a microwave or warmed the bottle.  Now, you just have to look at those bottles sideways and you are at risk of cancers, impaired immune function, early onset of puberty, obesity, diabetes and hyperactivity.

The whole article:

So, what is a girl that has over 25 or so Advent bottles tucked safely away with her baby stuff to do?  Lay awake at night sleepless thinking about the potential harm that she subjected her poor defenceless daughter to or, what to do for the poor defenceless baby currently occupying space in her uterus?  That hole is looking sooooo much more appealing now isn’t it? This Bisphenol A is such a deadly substance that there is a website (a .org …. ohhhhh) that exists warning of the risks:

So, there is hope as there is now a new brand of bottles that are, wait for it, Bisphenol A FREE!

The not so good news is, unless you are American, you cannot just walk into your local Toys R Us and buy them.  Because, if you go to (vs. .com) you can buy, wait for it, Avent, Dr. Brown’s, Evenflo, Gerber and Playtex.  (For those that need a recap at this point, those are the EVIL, EVIL 5 that we talked about earlier)  So, if you are Canadian, your only option is to A) move to the US or B) order online and pay a fortune in shipping (IF they will even ship to you which, I didn’t check).

The good news is, we have plenty of room in our hole if anybody decides to join us. 🙂

  1. Suuuuzzziiiiie! long time no speak. I think Little Niblets store on Avenue Rd sells Evenflo glass bottles that are evil-free. hope this helps.

  2. Hey Inna! Hope all is well with you! We need to get together soon!

Thanks for the tip, I will have to check those out. Hopefully if I buy them, they will STILL be considered evil-free by the time new baby is born! LOL
