1 Week Old!!

Well, one week has passed and, Noah is still a dream baby! LOL  Part of me is having trouble accepting that it is THIS easy and, I keep on waiting for the other shoe to fall! LMAO  I remember feeling EXHAUSTED with Sydney and then her colic kicked in and OMG, I thought I was going to dye but, this time around, I am just so relaxed, so content and, tired but, not extremely exhausted for the most part.

Yesterday morning was my first day “SOLO” and, I was dreading it but, by 9am, I was already out of bed and had Sydney eating her pancake (that I made myself) breakfast!  I think the kid was testing me….we usually have pancakes on the weekend since Pat makes them and, she NEVER asks for them during teh week but, yesterday, I said the usually, “what do you want for breakfast” and got “pancakes please mummy” LMAO  Thankfully, Noah was sleeping so, I muddled my way through and they turned out OK.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I cook the bulk of the stuff in the house but, it just so happens that my husband is a pancake expert so, in all of our years together, he has always made them when we have them so, I have never had a reason to.

Then, I spoke with Carol, my midwife, who I haven’t seen since I was transferred to Mount Sinai for my pregnancy and, we made arrangements for me to pop into the office at noon for a check in.  Although they transferred my care for the pregnancy, they are still doing post-pregnancy mom/baby care which is nice…I missed them.  So, I managed to get myself showered and ready and the kids ready to go in under an hour!!!  I just dusted off the old bouncy chair and, put Noah in it in the bathroom while I took a shower and, Sydney watched TV in the living room.

I got checked first since Noah was sleeping and, everything was good.  My incision is healing nicely and, my blood pressure was at 130/85.  Next up was Mr. Noah and, he slept through most of it. LMAO  He weighed in at 6lbs 5oz which is great.  He was born at 6lbs 8oz and, was at 6lbs 2oz when we left the hospital.  The general rule is they should be back to their birth weight by the time they are two weeks old so, Noah should have no problem hitting that as he has a week to gain 3lbs.  So, we decided to forgoe next weeks check in and make it for 2 weeks from now instead.

And now, I leave you with some pictures:

And a cute video showing exactly where Sydney loves to be…right at her brother’s side:

  1. What a great first week, Sue! Sounds like your little man is fitting in so nicely, and you are doing great! (just remember not to overdo it, okay?)

I am lovin’ that video!! Syd looks so big now!!!

Can’t wait till we get a chance to smooch Noah’s little cheeks!!!

  2. Wow 1week already!! Sounds like things are going so well. I found baby #2 (i.e.Vanessa) to be much easier to deal with as well. Lets hope Noah keeps this ups for you. Syd is looking like such a proud big sister. That video is so sweet.

  3. Thanks gals! Things are going sooo smoothly…but, still waiting for the other shoe to fall! LMAO How sad is that?
